Manor Renewable Energy’s (MRE) new crew transfer vessel, the Manor Initiative (formerly the MPI Cervantes), is currently undergoing sea trials at Manor Marine.
MRE purchased the MPI Cervantes and MPI Cardenio earlier in 2019 with the aim to fully recondition and modernise them; the vessels are destined to join MRE’s fleet of vessels, supporting the company’s current offshore wind farm projects.
The converted vessel was extended from 17m to 21 metres and has been redesigned to maximize the deck space, overall cargo carrying capacity and transit speed through the water; it features two new Volvo Penta D13 700hp engines and is capable of achieving a maximum speed of 28 knots.
The MPI Cardenio is to follow and is currently undergoing extending, re-engining and refit works at Manor Marine and will be launched as the Manor Enterprise by March 2020.
