A custom-built cable facility for the rapid unloading and storage of all types of export and inter–array cables.
We designed and manufactured a bespoke solution for the storage of spare cable for one of the world’s largest offshore windfarms
As wind farms move further offshore and rapidly grow in size and scale, the amount of array and export cabling will increase proportionately. Spare cables will require storage in controlled environments for the life of the windfarm.
Easy access for efficient unloading
With an unrestricted harbour access and plentiful quay space, cables of up to 240mm in diameter can be unloaded from the adjacent quay and stored in a specially constructed facility.
Flexible storage facilities
The facility contains four bullrings with diameters of 8m, 10m, 13m and 18m; all are 3.2m in height. We work with the client to specify the exact requirements of the cable to be housed.
Immediate access
The cables housed in the cable storage area can be easily removed using a hydraulically operated reel system. The time required from the alert of an issue to taking the cable offshore is minimal.
